Cottage Build in Gosho Park

Gosho Park has some exciting news.

Two new cottages are currently being built adjacent to the Bush Camp. These lovely little two bedroom cottages, with en-suite bathrooms, will be the perfect little get-away into the park for visitors who are not all that keen on camping. The zebra can already be seen investigating the new facilities.

We can’t wait to show you the completed cottages.

New Science Labs in Progress

Turning the negatives into positives.

The lockdown presented the school with the perfect opportunity for some new developments – including turning the old kitchen and laundry at Peterhouse Girls into some new science labs and storage rooms.

Perfect for our budding scientists.

Learner Guides Testing their Skills at Rukuru Camp

Recently our Learner Guide pupils were very fortunate to secure a booking to visit Rukuru – a safari camp near the Zambezi River. It has varied vegetation with mopane woodland, jesse bush and a floodplain not far downstream from Chirundu. With this diversity we were able to study many different trees and there were good populations of elephant, impala, baboon and warthog.

We were out before sunrise and our walks revealed a variety of spoor - pupils were able to identify the different tracks of some nocturnal animals – porcupine, hyaena, mongoose, civet etc. Birding was excellent and we observed riverine species and large numbers of aquatic birds on the banks of the river. We went through the SCI methods of measuring trophies and put this into practice when we found skulls on our walks.

A Brighter Art-space for Creativity

The new Peterhouse Girls Art rooms are starting to brighten and fill up with busy pupils happily stationed in the new space, making 'productive mess' and noise as they cheerfully go about their creative pursuits.

The beautiful natural light and abundant counter space is appreciated and already well utilised as the A block continue to compile their coursework for the upcoming examination.

Whilst a few last finishing touches are needed to make the room abundantly bright and inspiring, the shelves are filled with books to inspire and objects waiting to be drawn.

NIAA Speech & Drama Festival Awards 2021

The National Institute of Allied Arts Speech and Drama Festival 2021

This year’s festival was, once again, a series of virtual events. In 2020 Peterhouse Boys only had three entries; this year there were 15. Honours were not readily handed out this year as they were in 2020, so it was a great achievement that Hritik Kala (VIth Form) attained two Honours Grades. Congratulations too, to Declan Hulbert (D Block) who attained a First Grade.

Peterhouse Girls submitted 29 graded entries of which four were awarded First Grades. Congratulations to Chiedza Matsika, Tadiwa Ruzvidzo, Grace Murendo & Tinotenda Mapani for their achievements.

Peterhouse - Words of Encouragement in Difficult Times

To all of our Peterhouse pupils, wherever you are, this video is to encourage you and let you know we are thinking of you and praying for you and your families.

We know that for many of you, being in lockdown and isolation is very hard. It’s easy when you are working alone for days on end to become demotivated, anxious and lonely. It takes courage and great strength of character to remain positive and work productively.

Today we are reaching out to remind you that whilst it may seem like it, you are not alone.
